Sac ACT Parent Leaders Lobby for Community Schols Funding

On April 14th, 2026 over 45 students, parents, community organizers, and advocates from across the state joined CA Partnership for the Future of Learning at the capitol to advocate for the ongoing funding of Community Schools!

Sac ACT parent leaders from the Sac City Unified School District were amongst the attendees. Leader, Nora Barraza, whose been part of leading this work locally, shared public comment during the hearing. In the afternoon we met with state representatives offices to share support of ongoing $1 billion investment to sustain and expand the transformative community schools! 

Sac ACT is a part of the CA Partnership for the Future of Learning. CAPFL is leading education justice organizations in pursuit of a fully-resourced, racially just public education system.
