We are Sacramento ACT
At Sacramento ACT, we get that life is complicated, and we know our communities face a lot of challenges. Our Local Organizing Committees (LOC) dive into the mix of issues like homelessness, mental health, public safety, youth, and immigration. We use that information to plan out strategies and campaigns that tackle the big problems in our area.
We're like bridge builders, bringing all kinds of folks together to work on solutions. We're all about making unlikely partnerships happen, because we know that's how we'll really make a difference.
We also team up with congregations to make sure the faith community's voice is heard loud and clear. We're all about shaping a moral vision based on shared faith values, and we want to inspire action that makes a positive impact.
Even if we can't reach every community directly, we're committed to helping our partners understand how organizing can shake things up for the better. We're here to share our organizing know-how and team up with partners to make the changes we're all dreaming of. Let's make our communities better together!
Join the Sacramento ACT Community!
There are a few different ways to be a part of our community.
Join as a Sacramento ACT Leader:
At Sacramento ACT we do not provide a service or give out materials. Our non profit focuses on developing people; as a result, we refer to our “volunteers” as “leaders”. When a leader joins Sacramento ACT, they will attend personal development trainings that will take them through our organizing cycle. Our hope is that our leaders will gain crucial leadership development skills to help them know how to build and exercise their own power to address the root causes of the problems they face.
