Favorite quote or scripture related to justice:
“But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an everflowing stream.”
What does justice mean to you?
St. Paul, in his letter to the church in Corinth, urges them to generosity reminding them that, "it is a question of a fair balance...for it is written, 'The one who had much did not have too much, and the one who had little did not have too little' " (2 Cor. 13b-15). To me Justice means that our resources are shared and available to those who have need for them without regard for race, creed, color, gender, orientation, or economic status. And when we fail in this it is our job to speak truth to power and advocate for justice to be served.
What is the most powerful thing you have been a part of at ACT?
In the summer of 2009 when I helped chair several rallies that culminated in an action at Trinity Cathedral related to the Affordable Healthcare Act. This was the summer of some rather unprecedented protests against the ACA rallies around the country.
