Favorite quote or scripture related to justice:

"The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.”

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

What does justice mean to you?

Justice is the act of grace where humanity is reaffirmed and all are treated fairly.

What is the most powerful thing you have been a part of at ACT?

In 2009, before I began working with Mutual Housing, Sacramento ACT worked with the Diocesan Immigration Support Network to create a reflective exercise where parishioners during Lent were invited to participate in the Stations of the Cross with a focus on the needs of the community. During the exercise participants were invited to visit each station where the traditional stations were replaced by community stories of loss and need. These included stories of families losing their homes through foreclosure, homelessness, loss through violence on the streets, immigration and other relevant issues of the day. The participants were then invited to sit together, eat together and reflect on the issues hurting our community within the framework of the pain suffered by our Lord in the Stations of the Cross. The discussions about the different issues were deep, and in some communities it was the first time we felt safe in discussing immigration reform.

Favorite thing about Sacramento:

The diversity.
