What called you to ACT?

I came to Sacramento ACT to reconcile my relationship with the church.  I have a deep love for the church, but as a young adult I also had a strong critique and felt distanced from the church.  I wanted step into the space of service to church.

I came to ACT out of a deep desire to help more of our members get out of the pews and answer their call to transform our communities. I wanted to challenge myself to be the best person I can be and to model Jesus’s example of liberation and advocating for the least in our community.  I want to radicalize people of faith to the moment in front of us, the opportunity we have to shine our light and stand by the voiceless to be a vessel for healing, reconciliation and justice in Sacramento.

Favorite Book:

Radical: Taking Back Your Faith From the American Dream, by David Platt

Jesus and the Disinherited, by Howard Thurman

Ferguson and Faith: Sparking Leadership and Awaking Community, by Leah Gunning Francis

Favorite thing about Sacramento:

All the little niche diverse communities that I can explore and learn from.
